Archangel Castle talks to Fabrice, CH Manual and a New Poll!

Much in the vibe of our own interview with Heroes V developer Fabrice Cambounet, Archangel Castle have conducted their own interview. However, it has been translated by French native speaker Sfidanza, here so you can be assured it will be perfectly comprehensible.

Continuing in the scheme of their recent 'pdf' resource documents, Celestial Heavens have released a complete 134-page manual, available for download in 3 different varieties.

Our Campaign poll was wrapped up this week, with the graph being skewed towards the 'good' ratings. Only a handful of people rated them below average, while almost 80% of voters rating it average and above. This week, the focus turns to the expansion. What town(s) do you think we will see? Vote here.

Weekly HC Poll Results, Campaign Acclaim Poll

Magic took centre-stage this week as the four new magic schools tested their "might" against each other in the Magic Poll. The results mirrored not only effectiveness, but showed that great-looking spells like Implosion have won some fans over:
1. Dark Magic, 32 (37%) - Considered by many to be the top magic school of Heroes V, especially due to the notoriously powerful level 4 spells, Dark Magic this week's winner. Dark is likened to Order and Death from Heroes IV.
2. Destructive Magic, 29 (33%) - Heroes V's rendition of Chaos magic, Destructive magic may be slightly underpowered for all other towns aside from Dungeon, and loses value as the game progresses, it is still popular with the fans for its cool-looking effects.
3. Light 14, (16%) - Light magic, while good in the early levels, does not prove to be a hit amongst the fans.
4. Summoning 12, (14%) - Though it may appear attractive, Summoning magic is not a natural choice. Perhaps its because it is not aligned with the Sylvan?

As a bit of a follow up to our interview with Fabrice, Old_Boy of the Nival forums has answered a long list of questions regarding the future of Heroes V. Among other things, the Nival representative sheds some light on some interesting issues:
- Two new map sizes are planned: Small – 72x72 and Huge – 216x216.
- There is no Ghost Mode planned for LAN, nor any Duel planned for Hotseat.
- A detailed manual should be available for download in the future.
Read it all here.

Weekly HC Poll Results + Next Poll, Cheating in Heroes 5

This week Heroes 5 factions battled for supremacy in the eyes of their fans. This is the outcome:
1. Dungeon (23) - of course! ladies always first ;)
2. Necropolis (22) - a lot of people would rather command corpses than ladies...
3. Academy (21) - very exotic town, powerful magic and ranged attacks.
4. Sylvan (19) - many like nature, and the balanced units lineup of Sylvan.
5. Inferno (9) - The spectacular evil Dungeon cast a shadow over Inferno.
6. Haven (7) - Although more varied in Heroes V, human faction is still the most plain.

Next Poll: What is your favourite Magic School? vote here!

Cheating in Heroes 5 has been discovered. It's not as easy as typing a code, but it's doable. We strongly discourage use of any cheating in multiplayer. The guide will soon be available on Age of Heroes, meanwhile you can download it here. We'll be looking for the ways to detect and prevent cheating.

In other news, last 10 posts and today's posts functions of HC have been improved to separate the dedicated HOMM threads from community and chat threads. This will make it easier for you to get more of what you want at Heroes Community. Meanwhile, we've had a strange lack of entries into the Heroes 5 Screenshots contest - it could mean an easy win for you - enter here.
