TotE Mods and More...

One of the most sought-after mods since Heroes V's inception was one that could enable the player to add creatures to the game without overwriting any others. Previously, one slot had been available (the unused "Snow Ape"). However, Sfidanza has released a New Creatures Framework, which increases the number of slots, unlocking numbers 180-299 (at present). It is downloadable at Heroes-Fr, here.
Also available is the Heroes Complete-only map created by Marzhin which brings Dark Messiah to Heroes V.
Keep up to date with the latest mods in the highly active Modders' Workshop forum.

Heroes of Might and Magic Kingdoms: web-based Heroes by Ubi

Ubisoft announced today that Heroes 5 will have its web-based game, Heroes of Might and Magic Kingdoms, scheduled to be opened worlwide in spring 2008. In the meantime, there will be an open beta phase, starting early 2008, and you can already register for the waiting list. Note that if you are one of the 20.000 buyers of the Complete Edition, you will have an exclusive access! The beta should last about three months.

HoMM Kingdoms is a massively multiplayer online game, played through your browser. Set in Ashan, the game should feature at least Haven, Academy and Inferno, judging from the screenshots, and maybe Necropolis if we look at the introductory flash video. Graphics are completely in line with Heroes 5 style, and the game is set to become one of the most beautiful web-based game out there.

Note that it should not be confused with the chinese Heroes Online game, which is not web-based, is limited to China, and is not produced by Ubisoft.

New Mods for TotE

A new mod, that unlocks the campaign heroes in TotE multiplayer maps was created by sfidanza. The mod permits us to use 48 campaign heroes, including Zehir, Agrael, Sovereign, Biara and more. For more details and download, press here.

Another mod, created by sfidanza as well, permits playing in windowed mode, not on a full screen, so the game can run also while doing other things on the computer. For more details and download, press here.

Heroes Complete and TotE Review

A limited edition Heroes Compendium has been announced on the French M&M Site. The collection, dubbed Heroes Complete will feature all 5 pure Heroes games (+ expansions), 3 original music CDs, a 200-page artbook, a special content DVD, the Fan Manual, and a scenario map which allows you to re-live Dark Messiah in Heroes V! However, supplies will be limited to 20,000, retailing at 79,99 . See more information at Play.com, or discuss this with the Heroes Community.

Meanwhile, Tribes of the East has received a respectable review from IGN, scoring 7.9, higher than the average for the original game (7.8). The more positive comments were saved for the diversification of the game through adventure map objects and alternative upgrades, and the unique Blood Rage skill of the orcs.

Tribes of the East Section

Tribes of the East expansion has just been released, and our TotE Section is being updated with information from the game. You can find there:

1. Information about the Orcs Stronghold; creatures, heroes, Blood Rage skill, Warcries and buildings.
2. All the factions creatures, including the new alternative upgrades.
3. All the creatures abilities (from all the game's versions) and their explanations.
4. All the spells' information, including the new ones.
5. The full Artifacts list and the Artifacts Sets.

Tribes of the East: now released!

Finally! The wait is over: H5 second addon/standalone features-packed version "Tribes of the East" hit the shelves around the world yesterday (well at least in Australia and Western Europe), and pre-orders have started to be delivered. If you didn't pre-order, it's time to go to your local video game store and get your box!!

As always, you'll find the latest updated game information on AoH, with all the updates gathered on the ToE central information page. As the demo suggested, the game is absolutely wonderful, containing all the features released so far, and a whole lot of exceptional new additions.

We'll also try to track release dates around the world, if ToE is not yet available in your country. In the meantime, you can discuss ToE release with Heroes Community.

Tribes of the East Demo

Tribes of the East expansion will be released soon. From the 27th of September, we will be able to download its Demo, thanks to FilePlanet. The Demo offers playing with the new Orcs faction, conquering lands and letting us know the new special skills, abilities, tactics and features that come with Tribes of the East.

Heroes 5 Strategy Discussions

Discuss about Heroes 5 strategy on HC; You can share your special strategies, get tips if you can't figure how to use well a specific faction and talk about suggested strategies. There is a separate discussion for every faction; Haven, Inferno, Necropolis, Dungeon, Sylvan, Fortress and Academy.

Tribes of the East Trailer and Dev Diary 3

Another new influx of TotE information has graced us, in the form of the official trailer and a new developer diary. The trailer, showing some impressive cutscenes, is available through Ubisoft here. There are also numerous mirrors available, see here for details.

Ubi_Rickas has also posted the third developer diary, which details the mechanics of blood rage, the racial ability of the Orcs.

TotE Updates

As we draw nearer to the release date of the last episode in the Heroes V saga, Tribes of the East, more detailed previews and in-game shots have started to appear.
Drachenwald.Net's MysticPhoenix has posted in the Heroes Community forums, revealing a new video preview from the German site, PCGames.de (hence, the video is in German). There are also screenshots from that playtest further down the page in the HC TotE Announcement thread.
