Heroes V: Two Articles and 17 Screenshots
While you wait for the Open Beta to download, or are simply waiting another three days, here are a couple of tidbits to tide you over.
The Eurogamer.net Preview was posted yesterday, and the author gives her own quizzical opinions on the design decisions of Nival.
Today, to celebrate the launch of the Open Beta, Ubisoft released 10 screenshots. Among other things, they show a siege combat between Academy and Haven in action.
Additionally, Russian site CNews gave their impressions of the game, which have been (poorly) translated here. There were also 7 new screenshots revealed with the article. You can see all 17 screenshots spread across the first three pages of the Official Screenshots Gallery.

Open Beta update!
Firstly, I would like thank Valeriy for inviting me to this team, and secondly, I want to say hello, this is my first news post here, so... Thank you Valeriy, and hello to all!
Now, on to the point.
As most of you probably know, the Open Beta starts today, at 6PM UK time (GMT), but only for FilePlanet/GameSpy subscribers. For those who haven't subscribed, and want to save money, then the free Open Beta starts 3 days after today, and that's Thursday. Only 3 days to go!
Also, znork, the Ubisoft official Forum Mascot, has been kind enough to post a FAQ about the beta. I suggest you read it, as it contains important info, and the System Requirements!

Heroes of Might and Magic V Open Beta: Team of Helpers
Ubisoft has appointed a team of open beta helpers. These people have participated in the closed beta of Heroes V and have their Non-Disclosure Agreement partially lifted to answer general questions about the game, beta testing procedures and the upcoming Heroes V open beta.
Couple of important facts about the Heroes V open beta:
• Open Beta is not a demo version of the game - some game features will not be included in the open beta, and many aspects of the game will be revised and adjusted before being finalised.
• Open Beta is for testing and helping to improve the game, not for having a play to decide whether you want to buy Heroes V later. Many aspects of the game need to be balanced, such as creature stats, town costs, skill and spell effects, racial advantages, etc. Ubisoft is conducting the open beta in order to have your help in exposing flaws, bugs and imbalances of the game - in order to fix those and release a very balanced and stable game.
Lord_Crusader, Oakwarrior and myself are among the beta helpers. You can ask us questions here.

Heroes V Open Beta - There is still Hope
As we pass midday in most European countries, there is still no word as to the release date of the voraciously sought-after Open Beta. Frag Dolls' Jinx was made the Community Manager for the U.S.A., and said of the game: "i did see the game in action yesterday. it was great."
For those intent on following the proceedings of the Open Beta, watch this forum closely! To keep track of the time all around the world, visit this site. At this point, however, it seems unlikely that the Open Beta will arrive on time, given the lack of information up until now.
