2nd Heroes V Expansion Tidbits

After a barren spell of a month without news, some surfaces with regards to the second expansion. Another one of many Q&As on the official Nival forums was answered (in Russian) on the 6th of March by Nival's Old_Boy, revealing a few possibilities and omissions for the upcoming expansion. Among the possible new features are the return of the Kingdom Overview, a Hall of Fame revamp, and the ability to teleport enemy units... Things that were ruled out include Crystal Dragons and Nagas, a return of the Fog of War, Spells that affect units' speed, and campaign heroes being used for Multiplayer. View the details on the Heroes Community Thread.

Heroes V Patches 1.41 and 2.1 coming Tuesday

The next set of patches are finally ready for distribution, Fabrice Cambounet informs us in official forums. In addition, there will also be a server reboot:

"So, the patches 1.41 and 2.1 are ready to be distributed next monday : the first applies to Heroes 5 (you need to have 1.4 already applied), the second to the addon Hammers of Fate. The links will be posted at this time, of course.

The main content is allowing a switch of online servers in Ubisoft. The servers will go offline on monday from 3pm GMT to 9pm GMT. After this phase, you will need to have these patches applied to play online. They will be made available after the reboot through the autopatch system, and on tuesday they will be replicated all around as usual."

Fabrice also mentions that the next patch, 1.5, will contain the Duel Heroes Editor.

Update: Public release of the patch has been pushed back to Tuesday January 30, at 10am French time due to server changes.

Community Chat Room Now Open at ToHeroes.com

Because of UBI's user-unfriendly chatroom for in-game chatting, a new ToH Chatroom has opened (button to the right) for an easier meet & greet for players. The Heroes Community is welcome to visit the chatroom -- and use it for live chats with other members. You can even open up special rooms for topics/conversations.

Heroes Online still on the way!

A recent update as to the game's status was discovered by Vlaad in this thread. Heroes Online, which had been largely forgotten about pending the arrival of Heroes V and its Expansion, is indeed in development by TQ Digital, as the number of screenshots, concept art, and trailer show. Heroes V manuals now in polish as well

After quite some time of work, with morthi leading the polish localization team, sponsored by Jaskinia Behemota, the polish manuals are now available! The polish HOMM community has always been very active, and it's only natural that they can now enjoy both versions (2.0 and 1.4) in their native language.

As usual, you will find the download links on the game manuals page.

"Hammers of Fate" czech manual

The "Hammers of Fate" czech manual (2.0) is now available, with the additional dwarven content. The pdf file now features bookmarks for easier navigation. Manuals in other languages will also include those bookmarks when they get updated (most likely with patch 2.1).

You'll find it here as usual, on the game manuals page, and on the czech community site Heroes Centrum.
